State Auditor Pat McCarthy joined South King County mayors for King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer ’s August Good Eggs breakfast at Phoenix Rising Café in Auburn on Wednesday.

The Auditor’s Office employees 450 people in 15 offices throughout the state who work to improve government processes, accountability and transparency. McCarthy and her team conduct fraud investigations and financial, performance, cybersecurity and other audits on local governments and state agencies.

Lastly, McCarthy engaged the guests in attendance in a conversation about her office’s role, the evolving challenges they face and answered questions about election security, the process for selecting local governments and agencies for audit and their office’s commitment to helping local governments be prepared for audits.
