Kent Police searching for juveniles in Aug. 22 beating death | Update

Kent Police are trying to find three or four juveniles who reportedly beat to death a 56-year-old Kent resident.

Troy Michael Harrison died Sept. 8 after an Aug. 22 incident on the roadway at East James Street and Central Avenue North, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Sept. 10 report by the medical examiner listed the cause and manner of death as pending.

The man died from injuries suffered during an assault Aug. 22, according to a Sept. 10 Kent Police news release.

Officers responded at about 9:04 p.m. Aug. 22 to calls of a person being assaulted, according to police. Several witnesses reported a man had been on a bicycle and was being assaulted by three or four juveniles. One of the witnesses attempted to interrupt the assault by honking their horn, but the beating continued, according to police.

When officers arrived, the juveniles had fled the scene. Puget Sound Fire provided aid to Harrison, who had diminished consciousness. Paramedics transported Harrison to a hospital in stable condition, but since the assault his condition deteriorated and ultimately resulted in his death, according to police.
