Kent woman, 50, died from strangulation in East Hill homicide

A 50-year-old Kent woman died from asphyxia and strangulation, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The death of Sukhvir Kaur on March 26 was ruled a homicide, according to a March 31 report by the medical examiner.
Officers responded at about 10:10 a.m. March 26 to a East Hill residence in the 11200 block of SE 244th Pl., in response to a 911 call of CPR in progress, according to Kent Police.
Kaur was found unconscious, and CPR was started by the officers and later continued by Puget Sound Fire personnel, according to police. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and Kaur was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“Kent detectives are actively investigating the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Sukhvir Kaur,” Kent Police Assistant Chief Jarod Kasner said in a March 31 email. “They are working to confirm and/or dispel information that has been provided. As the detectives work though the gathered information there are details that cannot be released as those details are important in validating the leads that are acquired.”
As of Tuesday afternoon March 31, police had not made an arrest.
“This case is still developing and as we get releasable updates we will be able to provide more,” Kasner said.
