Kentridge fastpitch heads to district tournament

Kentridge High School will take on Rogers on Friday in the first round of the West Central District 4A Fastpitch Tournament.

The game is 11 a.m. at the Kent Service Club Ballfields, 14608 SE 288th St.

The Chargers beat Graham Kapowsin 10-9 in the South Puget Sound League 4A tournament on May 12, but lost 5-1 in a second game that evening to Thomas Jefferson. Federal Way beat Kentridge 13-8 last Friday, making the Chargers the No. 9 seed in the district tournament.

Losses to Federal Way and Graham Kapowsin knocked Kentwood out of the league tournament.

Kentlake, which finished second in the SPSL north conference behind undefeated Tahoma, plays Federal Way in the district tournament at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Service Club fields.

The district championship game is set for 5 p.m. Saturday at the Service Club fields. The top six teams in the tournament advance to state.
