For the second consecutive year, Kentwood’s Josh Smith will be among the nation’s top high school basketball players when he takes part in the fourth annual Boost Mobile Elite 24 event at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21. The game is held in Harlem, New York at the famed Holcomb Rucker Park.
The game features 24 of the top high school basketball players from across the nation. Rosters, which were announced on Aug. 5, are selected by a committee of high school basketball experts: ESPN RISE Magazine, ESPN Scouts, Inc. and other leading talent evaluators. Players are selected based on their performance at AAU tournaments and national summer camps.
Smith is one of just two players from Washington to make the cut, the other being Garfield junior Tony Wroten.
Smith, 6-foot-9, 275-pound senior-to-be, scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds during last year’s game.
