PREPS OF THE WEEK: April 5-11

KAYLA EVANS

Kentwood

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Fastpitch.

Accomplishment: Evans delivered two strong performances last week, going seven innings in the circle in a 6-4 win over Kentridge, then serving up an absolute gem in a win over Jefferson. Against Jefferson, Evans allowed just two hits and one run in a complete-game effort.

Favorite class: Daycare.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Paul Walker. And I definitely wouldn’t be the one to cook. That’s his job.

Favorite movie: The Notebook.

Most recent book read/author: “Twilight” by Stephanie Meyer.

What’s on your iPod?: “Boom Boom Pow” by Black Eyed Peas.

HOLLY DEHART

Kentwood

Grade: Sophomore.

Sport: Track & Field.

Accomplishment: DeHart is quickly coming into her own on the oval. This past Saturday, helped Kentwood win the Tacoma Invitational by blazing to wins in the 100 and 200-meter dashes.

Favorite class: Math.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite Nate Wilford, Taylor Swift, Katie Lightner, Jesus … and we would eat steak and my mom’s potatoes.

Favorite movie: Step Brothers or The Notebook.

Most recent book read/author: “Twilight” by Stephanie Meyer.

Also noted: Dehart hopes to continue her track & field pursuits after high school at the University of Oregon or Arizona.

BOBBY JOE TANNEHILL

Kentlake

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Baseball.

Accomplishment: There wasn’t a hotter player at the plate last week than Tannehill, who combined to go 9-for-10 with three runs scored, three RBIs and a home run in wins over Kent-Meridian and Federal Way.

Favorite class: Physical Education.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: (Former Mariner) Edgar Martinez. I feel like I could learn a lot from his hitting and his mental approach to the game. I’d serve some chicken.

Favorite movie: Tombstone.

Most recent book read/author: “Backcountry Bowhunting: A Guide to the Wild Side” by Cameron Hanes.

What’s on your iPod?: Andre Nickatina.

Also noted: Tannehill made the Area Code games and played for the Mariner Cup team this past summer.

BRANDON SHIPLEY

Kentlake

Grade: Sophomore.

Sport: Soccer.

Accomplishment: Shipley worked a 2-0 shutout of Auburn Riverside last week in a pivotal South Puget Sound League North Division game. It was Auburn Riverside’s first league loss of the season.

Favorite class: English.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Barack Obama. Ribs.

Favorite movie: Batman: The Dark Knight.

What’s on your iPod?: Drake.

Also noted: Shipley hopes to attend the University of Washington after graduation and plans to one day be a sports agent.

NICOLE BARGER

Kentridge

Grade: Junior.

Sport: Fastpitch.

Accomplishment: Barger keyed Kentridge’s 6-0 win over Auburn, collecting a pair of hits and two runs scored.

Favorite class: Math.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (NFL player) Reggie Bush and my dad. I would serve salmon, pineapple, salad and gatorade.

Favorite movie: Love and Basketball and Finding Nemo.
