The King County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help to identify a suspect in an attempted kidnapping/sexual assault case in unincorporated King County near Kent.

On Monday, Aug. 13, at about 11:45 p.m., a 16-year-old girl was walking/jogging in the area of South 272nd Street and 42nd Avenue South, according to a Sheriff’s Office media release on Tuesday.

The victim reportedly turned the corner at South 272nd Street and 42nd Avenue South and there was a dark-colored SUV sitting on the right side of the roadway. A male was outside the vehicle. The girl thought things were weird and started to turn around to go the other direction when the suspect grabbed her.

The suspect grabbed the girl’s throat and was able to push her into the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The suspect got the victim’s pants partially down and tried to keep her in the vehicle. The girl struggled, kicking the suspect and he fell down. The victim was screaming and honking the vehicles horn. The girl said she was able to scratch the suspect’s face.

When the man got back up from falling, he tried to grab the girl again. The suspect grabbed the victim and she took off her sweatshirt to get away. The man then grabbed the victim’s leg and her shoe came off. The girl was able to run away and flag down a passing vehicle for help.

The suspect is white, 6 feet, 2 inches tall with a thick build. He is 50 to 55 years old with salt/pepper shoulder-length hair. He was wearing dark clothing. He was driving an older, dark colored 4-door SUV similar to a Toyota 4 Runner.

Anyone with information should call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311.
