Occupants safely escaped a fire that struck their four-plex in the 11100 block of Southeast 223rd Street on Kent’s East Hill Saturday night, the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority reported.
Firefighters, dispatched at 9:30 p.m., found the single-story building with flames coming through the roof and several windows. And because the roof had collapsed, firefighters fought the flames “defensively,” or from the outside of the structure.
There were no reported injuries. Red Cross is helping the displaced residents. The Flood Guys are providing a free boardup service to protect the property.
The fire is under investigation.
