AUSTIN VOTH

Kentwood

• Grade: Senior.

• Sport: Baseball.

• Accomplishment: Voth was absolutely dominant, striking out 10 and allowing just one hit, leading Kentwood past Federal Way last week 9-1. Voth followed up the effort with three hits and three RBIs in a win over Kent-Meridian.

• Favorite class: Chemistry.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (New York Yankees pitcher) A.J. Burnett and (Boston Red Sox pitcher) Josh Beckett. We would eat ravioli.

• What is your greatest athletic moment: Throwing a no-hitter in a state championship game.

• Most recent book read/author: “Splinter Cell Conviction” by Tom Clancy.

• What’s on your iPod?: “Over” by Drake.

• Also noted: Voth will pitch at the University of Washington next season.

STETSON OLSON

Kentridge

• Grade: Senior.

• Sport: Baseball.

• Accomplishment: Olson, who will play at WSU next year, went 2-for-2 with 4 RBIs in a win over K-M, then added a hit and two RBIs in a 6-4 victory over Auburn Riverside.

• Favorite class: Sports Medicine.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Ken Griffey Jr. and I’d serve steak. I would rack his brain for information and advice. He’s the greatest player ever in my book.

• Greatest Athletic Moment: Receiving a baseball scholarship to WSU.

• Most recent book read/author: “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” by Mark Twain.

• What’s on your iPod?: Led Zeppelin.

• Also noted: Olson is just as strong in the classroom, where he sports a 3.68 grade-point average, as he is on the diamond.

DANIELLE ORVELLA

Kentridge

• Grade: Senior.

• Sport: Fastpitch.

• Accomplishment: Orvella pitched the Chargers to victory against K-M, then went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and 1 RBI in a victory over Auburn Riverside.

• Favorite class: Commercial Art 4.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: If I could invite anyone to dinner I would invite Josh Gracin because he is one of my favorite artists and he is very attractive.

• Greatest Athletic Moment: The game I played against the California Raiders in Huntington Beach, where I pitched the game of my life.

• Most recent book read/author: “Three Cups of Tea” by Greg Mortenson.

• Also noted: Orvella is a “Running Start” student at Green River Community College and sports a 3.7 grade-point average. She hopes to continue her fastpitch career in college.

ABU KAMARA

Kent-Meridian

• Grade: Freshman.

• Sport: Track.

• Accomplishment: Kamara showed his versatility last wee in a win over Tahoma, securing victories in the 300 hurdles (42.42), the 110 high hurdles (16.21) and was a member of K-M’s winning 4 x 400 relay team.

• Favorite class: French.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: (NBA star) LeBron James. Fried rice and chicken wings.

• Greatest Athletic Moment: My first dunk in basketball.

• Most recent book read/author: “Taking Sides” by Gary Soto.

• What’s on your iPod?: Beamer, Benz or Bentley.

• Also noted: Kamara was born in Sierra Leone, West Africa. He moved to the United States in February of 2006.

NIKOLE WEBER

Kentlake

• Grade: Senior.

• Sport: Fastpitch.

• Accomplishment: Weber served up a complete-game gem, leading the Falcons past previously unbeaten Kentridge, 9-2.

• Favorite class: Ceramics.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite my boyfriend to dinner and serve Italian food and chocolate milk. Teammate Erika Smyth would probably join us unexpectedly and bring tacos.

• Favorite movie: House Bunny.

• Most recent book read/author: “Crime and Punishment” by Fyodor Dostoevsky.

• What’s on your iPod?: “Ridin’ Solo” by Jason Derulo.

• Also noted: Weber also is part of Kentlake’s ASB, where she is senior vice president. She will be attending Chapman University (Calif.) next year and will be playing fastpitch.
