Groundbreaking for new development on Kent’s Central Avenue

Property owner Su Chin Dean, front in blue jacket, was joined by Mayor Suzette Cooke and a handful of friends and developers Oct. 15 at a groundbreaking for a new 7,500-square-foot retail plaza on Central Avenue near Sara’s Coffee Shop.

According to Jim Bennett, right front, the plaza will consist of two buildings and will include an insurance office, a financial planner, a mortgage broker and a food establishment. Bennett said the $1.5 million dollar project should be completed within four months and said the first businesses could be open by the end of the year.
