Four roads remained closed Friday afternoon, Jan. 7 in Kent due to flooding from heavy rain over the previous 24 hours.

The Kent School District closed Mill Creek Middle School on Friday due to continued extreme flooding around the school, 620 Central Ave. N. All others schools opened.

The city Public Works Department released the following road updates at about 2 p.m..:

Now open:

E George St between Central Ave N to Woodford Ave

State Ave N between E James St to E George St

Woodford Ave N between E James St to E George St

S 248th St between 98th Ave S to 94th Ave S

Road closures:

SE 223rd Dr between 117th Ave SE to 120th Ave SE, residential traffic only

SE 256th St between 148th Ave SE to 146th Ave SE

144th Ave SE between SE 282nd St to SE 278th St

148th Ave S between SE 256th St to SE 249th St

Traffic impacts:

NEW: Eastbound curb lane closures on James St between Central Ave N to 94th Ave S

Eastbound curb lane closure on S 196th St at 81st Ave S

Water over roadway:

124th Ave SE between SE Kent Kangley Rd and SE 270th St

76th Ave S between 21600 block to the 22100 block

81st Ave S between S 196th St to S 198th St
