PREPS OF THE WEEK: May 20 edition

QUINCIE PROCTOR-GUYTON, Kentwood

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Track & Field.

Accomplishment: Proctor-Guyton ran the third leg on Kentwood’s winning 4 x 100 (49.16) and 4 x 200 (1:41.53) teams during last week’s sub-district track & field meet at Kent-Meridian High.

Favorite class: Chemistry and CWS.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Justin Timberlake! He is the best performer! I would serve steak and potatoes because it’s a hearty meal.

Greatest athletic moment: Breaking the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 school records.

Most recent book read/author: “Reading Lolita in Tehran” by Azar Nafisi.

Favorite movie: School of Rock.

Currently playing on your iPod: “Lord of the Kings” by U-N-I.

In 10 years, I will be …: A dermatologist with my own practice.

 

AXL SNURE, Kentridge

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Baseball.

Accomplishment: Snure went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored, leading the Chargers past Kentlake 7-1 in a playoff baseball game.

Favorite class: Graphic Arts.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite Julian Smith and serve cheeseburgers. We would talk about videos and hopefully make them.

Greatest athletic moment: Having two interceptions against Kentlake my junior year.

Most recent book read/author: “Roberts Ridge” by Malcolm McPherson.

Favorite movie: The Hangover.

Currently playing on your iPod: Eddie Vedder.

In 10 years, I will be …:  A professional pilot.

 

KATELYN OVERLAND, Kentridge

Grade: Freshman.

Sport: Tennis.

Accomplishment: Overland upended Bethel’s Shelby Sewright 6-2, 6-4 to capture the singles title at the South Puget Sound League tournament last week.

Favorite class: American Sign Language.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: John Isner to the Bamboo Garden (vegetarian cuisine).

Greatest athletic moment: So far, winning the SPSL tournament. Favorite movie: How to train your dragon.

Currently playing on your iPod: Anything that’s not main stream.

 

ERIKA SMYTH, Kentlake

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Fastpitch.

Accomplishment: Smyth went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, leading the Falcons past Tahoma for the South Puget Sound League title last week.

Favorite class: Ceramics.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite teammates Brittany Styger and Erin Crowley. They would serve me rice and teriyaki chicken.

Greatest athletic moment: Advancing to state last year on (teammate) Brooke Evans’ walk-off hit in extra innings.

Favorite movie: Anchorman.

Currently playing on your iPod: “Feel the Rush” by Pleasure P.

In 10 years, I will be …: Married with a successful job.

 

CHELSEA MUSKELLY, Kent-Meridian

Grade: Junior.

Sport: Track & Field.

Accomplishment: Muskelly uncorked a mark of 5-feet, 2 inches, which was good enough for a second-place finish in the high jump during last week’s South Puget Sound League sub-district meet at Kent-Meridian High.
