Volunteers recently helped clean up Kent Little League fields as part of the Mariners Community All-Stars program, a new initiative launched this year with the Seattle Sports Commission in partnership with Microsoft and Amazon.

Little League programs in Kent and Federal Way were part of the May cleanup, with crews hitting Kent on May 26.

“Thankful for this sunny day and partnership with the Mariners and Microsoft who are making field improvement,” said a Kent Little League statement.

Fall cleanups are scheduled for the Soundview Little League (Tacoma) and Seattle Central Little League.

As a part of the project, each Little League site will be provided $10,000 grants to support future play equity programming and/or playground/field needs, according to the Mariners website.
