Texas-based Ezee Fiber to offer internet service in Kent

Company announces $400 million expansion to Washington state; regional headquarters in Kent

Kent residents will have another internet option later this year as Houston, Texas-based Ezee Fiber announced plans Tuesday, Feb. 4 for a $400 million investment to expand the network.

Construction of the new system is underway in Kent with plans to expand across the Puget Sound region and the state, according to a company media release.

“We are eager to welcome Ezee Fiber to Kent,” Mayor Dana Ralph said. “The addition of another internet service provider bringing high-speed fiber optic internet infrastructure to everyone in our city will provide another competitive option for residents and elevate the overall market.”

The buildout will deliver Ezee Fiber’s multi-gig fiber internet to residential and business customers. The company currently offers services in two states, Texas and New Mexico. The company was founded in 2021, according to pitchbook.com.

Ezee Fiber said it will create over 350 jobs throughout the region for construction personnel, installation technicians, and sales, marketing, and community engagement associates. The company has established a regional headquarters in Kent and begun to post job openings.

“I’m proud to bring Ezee Fiber’s award-winning multi-gig internet service to the greater Puget Sound region,” Ezee Fiber CEO Matt Marino said. “Our customers have honored us with a 4.9 Google rating and thousands of 5-star reviews. There are no contracts, fees, or data caps. Our service includes transparent pricing and friendly, local customer service. Long wait times, outdated technology, confusing bills, pricing gimmicks and frustrating customer service will be history for any new Ezee Fiber customers.”

Over the past 18 months, Ezee Fiber has announced a $200 million expansion in Houston; a $250 million expansion in New Mexico; the acquisition of Conterra Networks’ fiber optic assets in New Mexico; and its latest $400 million expansion in the state of Washington.

Residential and customer installations are expected to begin this spring, according to the city of Kent.

The network will cover neighborhoods, condo and apartment buildings, master-planned communities, small and large businesses, schools, and municipal facilities.

Residents and business owners can visit ezeefiber.com to learn more, check availability, and pre-register for service to be among the first to receive Ezee Fiber internet.
