Belly dancers from the Pacific Northwest as well as other states and Canada will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Kent-Meridian High School Performing Arts Center, 10020 S.E. 256th St.

The dancers are part of a Gala Tribute show in honor of Mahmoud Reda, a pioneer of Middle Eastern dance theater in Egypt who is in town to conduct workshops Aug. 14-15.

The tribute will feature traditional and ethnic dances from Egypt to the Persian Gulf, according to presenters Saqra and “Cause It’s Art.” Saqra is a Kent belly dancer and instructor and one of many dancers featured in the gala. Reda does not perform in the evening show.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show runs from 7-9:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door.

For more information, go to www.saqra.net/reda.html or call Saqra at 253-813-8580.
