Players from the Seattle Mist of the women’s Lingerie Football League appeared at the ShoWare Center in Kent Thursday to promote their game at 7 p.m. Friday against the Las Vegas Sin.

The Kent-based team has drawn nationwide media attention because of quarterback Angela Rypien, the daughter of former NFL quarterback Mark Rypien. Mark Rypien was the most valuable player of Super Bowl XXVI in 1992 when he led the Washington Redskins over the Buffalo Bills 37-24. He also played at Washington State University.

ESPN.com sports columnist Rick Reilly published a column Nov. 2 about Mark Rypien and his daughter. Yahoo Sports last month featured a story on the front page of its website about the Rypien quarterbacking duo.

Angela Rypien even had her photo Oct. 17 in Sports Illustrated, although the magazine listed her in its Sign Of The Apocalypse section.

The Mist take a 1-0 record into their game against Las Vegas, which also is 1-0 in the Western Conference.

The game will be televised at 7 p.m. Friday on MTV2, check your local listings to see whether your provider will air the game at 7 p.m. or tape-delayed at 10 p.m. Friday.

Tickets have been selling fast, and ShoWare officials expect the game might be a sellout at the 6,025-seat arena.

Oddsmakers list Seattle as a 10.5-point favorite. The Mist beat the Green Bay Chill 42-8 in their opening game of the season. Seattle plays Dec. 16 at the Los Angeles Temptation and returns home Jan. 6 to play the Minnesota Valkyrie.

The 12-team league features scantily clad women playing seven-on-seven tackle football on a 50-yard field. They play 17-minute halves. Each offense features a quarterback, center, two running backs and three receivers. There is no punting or field goals. Teams must throw at least two passes every four downs.

The players wear helmets with clear face shields, shoulder pads, sports bras, tight shorts, elbow and knee pads.
