With four inspired performances, Heavier Than Air Family Theatre Company just “cain’t say no” to commemorating the 75th anniversary of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!”

The first of many successful collaborations for Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, “Oklahoma!” is recognized by critics and historians as the introduction of the modern American musical, seamlessly incorporating story, song and dance.

“Oklahoma!” opens Friday, June 22 at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Building on the main campus of Green River College, 12401 SE 320th St., Auburn, and runs through Sunday, June 24.

Set in Western Indian territory, headstrong dreamers steer their romance down a bumpy country road where turn of the century high-spirited rivalry leads to the celebration of a brand-new life in a brand-new state … Oklahoma!

Show times are 7 p.m. June 22 and 23, with 2 o’clock matinees on June 23 and 24.

For performance information call 253-833-9111, ext. 2400, Monday-Friday until 3 p.m., and ext. 4966 on show dates.
