A 20-year-old Kent woman died after she was hit by a vehicle Tuesday night, Aug. 15 while walking in the 25000 block of 104th Avenue SE.

Kent Police arrested a 62-year-old Kent man for investigation of DUI and will send the case to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for consideration of additional charges, according to an Aug. 16 Kent Police statement.

Kara Vee died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officers responded at about 10:13 p.m. to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Officers found Vee and began lifesaving efforts until firefighters from Puget Sound Fire and medics took over medical aid, according to police. Paramedics transported Vee to a Seattle hospital where she later died, according to police.

Witnesses told police that Vee was in the roadway when she was hit.

Kent Police Traffic Investigators continue to gather and review additional statements and evidence to determine the sequence of events that led up to collision.
