Kent-based Puget Sound Fire firefighters extinguished an apartment fire in about 20 minutes and rescued a cat from inside the unit.
Firefighters responded at about 10:30 a.m. Nov. 19 to a fire at the Berkley Heights Apartments in the 22700 block of 91st Way, according to a Nov. 21 email from Puget Sound Fire spokesperson Pat Pawlak.
The resident of the apartment made it out safely and firefighters were able to locate the resident’s cat, brought it out safely and the cat is doing well, according to Puget Sound Fire. There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Pawlak said.
