Washington State Patrol troopers arrested two Kent men the morning of March 17 for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in two separate incidents.

At about 6:50 a.m., troopers arrested a 49-year-old Kent man for investigation of drunk driving after he pulled out of a parking lot and collided with a school bus northbound on the Benson Highway near Southeast 208th Street. Paramedics treated the man for minor injuries, according to a State Patrol media release.

The bus driver was not injured and did not have any passengers. Crews closed the northbound lanes of the Benson Highway, also known as State Highway 515, for about an hour to investigate the accident and remove the vehicles.

At about 9:50 a.m., multiple residents called 911 to report an erratic vehicle northbound on State Route 169 through Maple Valley.

Troopers and King County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped and arrested a 24-year-old Kent man for investigation of driving under the influence of drugs and reckless driving.
