A sampling of Kent Police incidents April 25 to May 7:

April 25

Domestic violence: 11:30 a.m., patrol responded to the Country Glen Apartments, 27200 132nd Avenue SE, unit D101 for a report of a domestic with a gun. The information was being relayed third party to dispatch as the victim was locked in a room with her 14-year-old daughter and did not have the ability to actually call 911. Ultimately, the victim and her daughter were able to escape via crawling out the bedroom window. Patrol set up containment around the residence. Detective Sgt. Koehler responded and made phone contact with the suspect, who was still inside the residence, convincing him to surrender. A short time later, the suspect came out and was taken into custody without incident.

April 30

Pistol displayed: 10:44 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 11000 block of Kent Kangley Road. Witnesses observed a male pointing a pistol towards Kent Kangley Road as he walked down the street. Officers located the male in front of the Clubhouse Bar. The suspect was verbally confrontational and refused very basic commands. Several attempts at de-escalation had negative results. The suspect then made suspicious movements towards his concealed hip area, resulting in him being tased and detained. A loaded pistol was located on his waistband. The suspect was not injured and he was charged with two weapon violation offenses.

Drive-by shooting: 1 a.m., South 277th corridor. Door Dash driver driving east up the hill being tailgated by an unknown vehicle. That vehicle pulled alongside and shot at the victim, striking his car multiple times. The unknown suspects then drove off eastbound. The victim made a U-turn. He delivered the food he had, then drove to Big Foot Java at 23800 West Valley Highway where he knows the employee there. He then called 911 to report what had happened. The victim was uninjured during this incident.

May 1

Shot in foot: 2:40 a.m., 11600 block SE 252nd Place. Officers responded to a shooting, with the male victim shot in the foot. Officers found several people at this house, with one male with a gunshot wound to the foot. With very little cooperation, they learned that the suspect who lives at the house, got into a verbal argument with others about a remote control, so he racked a round in his gun and pointed it at them. He then racked the round out of the gun and pulled the trigger, shooting the victim in the foot. Per the witness it was most likely accidental as he was “clearing” the gun. The suspect left the scene, prior to the police arriving. The victim was transported to a local hospital.

May 2

Shots fired: 5:50 p.m., Arterra Apartments, 10031 SE 258th Place. Report of several gunshots near the “L” building. Officers found several people there but they provided little cooperation. There was damage resulting from the gunshots, to a vehicle and the building. There were no reported injuries and five bullet casings were recovered.

Assault, robbery: 5:57 p.m., there was an assault/robbery with a gun at the Chevron located at South 272nd Street and Military Road South. The suspect followed his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend to that location and threatened them both with a handgun. There is a valid no contact order between the suspect and the female. The suspect hit the female’s new boyfriend in the face with the gun and took both their cellphones before fleeing the scene. The suspect was believed to be at the Comfort Inn in SeaTac. Officers confirmed via surveillance that the suspect had arrived at the location shortly after the incident. He was later observed exiting the motel and getting into his SUV. Ultimately, patrol as well as on duty SWAT assisted with a takedown of the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

May 7

Shot in leg: 1:53 a.m., a 22 year-old man arrived at Valley Medical Center in Renton with a gunshot wound to his leg. The man stated he was shot somewhere in Kent, later choosing the address of 9123 S. 201st St., from a map. He told officers that some unknown subjects were driving by and shot several rounds at him, striking him in the leg. The victim had limited information about the incident.

Apartment shooting: 5:35 a.m., at the Skyview Apartments, 3322 S. 222nd Place, a female victim stated she was in her apartment with her kids when her ex-boyfriend’s cousin entered the apartment to get the ex-boyfriend’s belongings. When the male left the apartment, the victim stepped outside and saw her ex-boyfriend in the parking lot holding a gun. He yelled at her from the parking lot and fired about five to six rounds towards the apartment. The two males then fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers arrived and located four bullet casings, which were recovered in the parking lot. No one was injured during this incident. The suspect and his cousin are known to the victim.
