Kent Police Detectives are looking for a man suspected in a strong arm robbery July 7.

Police continue to investigate a reported robbery that occurred that Monday at about 12:20 p.m. in the McDonald’s/Chevron gas station parking lot, 10715 SE 240th St.

The victim reported that while walking out to her car a male suspect ran up from behind her, grabbing her purse. The victim resisted, during which time the suspect overpowered her, and she fell to the ground. As a result, the suspect fled with her purse.

The victim sustained injuries to her foot and arm. Witnesses in the area gave chase after the suspect, police said. The suspect proceeded to yell at the witnesses to stop chasing him or he would shoot them. No weapon was seen, police said.

Officers fanned out in the area in search of the suspect but were unsuccessful in locating him. He was caught on the Chevron store surveillance and is described as a Hispanic male adult, 18-20 years of age, with dark hair and a goatee. He is 5 feet, 10 inches, with a medium build and brown eyes.

Police investigators are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information regarding this incident or any similar case is asked to call 911 or the Kent Police Department tip line at 253-856-5808.
