Man, 26, fatally shot at Kent apartment complex in the Valley

Found lying in parking lot Sunday, Oct. 26 at complex in the 6000 block of South 233rd Place

Kent Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old Kent man Sunday evening, Oct. 26 at an apartment complex in the 6000 block of South 233rd Place.

Officers responded at about 6:13 p.m. after 911 calls of a shooting, according to an Oct. 27 Kent Police news release. Numerous callers said they heard gunfire and saw a subject lying in the parking lot.

Officers and medics arrived and found the man unresponsive, according to police. He died at the scene. Officers found a loaded 9mm gun near the man, which was later determined to be registered to the deceased.

About 40 minutes after police arrived at the apartment complex, they were notified by dispatch that two patients had arrived at Valley Medical Center in Renton with gunshot wounds, according to police. Detectives are trying to determine if the two events are related. Both gunshot victims at the hospital are 23 years old. Their medical condition is unknown.

Anyone who witnessed the homicide or have evidence or information and have not been interviewed, are asked to call the Kent Police Tip Line at 253-856-5808 or send an email to KPDTipLine@kentwa.gov. If your information is urgent, call 911 and ask to speak to an officer.

This marks the seventh homicide in 2025 in the city, according to police.
