Summer kicks off with 80-degree weekend weather

Puget Sound region weather forecast for June 21-23.

Summer is finally underway in the Puget Sound region.

Everyone can say good riddance to 40-degree lows. According to the National Weather Service, the projected low every day until July is above 50 degrees.

This weekend should also be a rain-free weekend. No day has a chance of precipitation higher than 20%.

Additionally, keep your eyes peeled at night — both Friday and Saturday will have a full moon.

• Friday, June 21: Sunny day with a high of 82 degrees and a low of 59 degrees, both the highest projected for the rest of the month. According to AccuWeather, the UV index is eight out of 11, with 43% humidity and 6 mph winds.

• Saturday, June 22: Projected to be a slightly cooler day with a high of 79 degrees and a low of 54 degrees, with mostly cloudy skies to start the day before clearing up. The UV index is slightly lower, seven out of 11, with marginally higher humidity at 48% and winds at 9 mph.

Sunday, June 23: Unfortunately, there are no roses without thorns, and there cannot be two beautiful days in a row without a slight shift back on reality. This will be the coldest day of the weekend and is projected to be the coldest of the rest of June. There will be a high of 67 degrees and a low of 54 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. This is also the highest chance of rain, a 20% chance before 11 a.m. Humidity will be at 58%, and the UV Index will be at six out of 11, and the winds at 11 mph.

Monday, June 24: The warmth will return on Monday with high temperatures back in the 70s. However, Seattle area showers also have a chance to come next Wednesday and Thursday.
