Two males, ages 21 and 16, were arrested at The Landing on Nov. 29

An armed carjacking in Newcastle ended with an arrest at The Landing in Renton on Wednesday evening, Nov. 29.

The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) received a 911 call at 2:34 p.m. with a report of an armed carjacking of a white 2018 Mercedes Benz at the Newcastle Safeway at 6911 Coal Creek Road SE. The person whose car was stolen was not injured and no gunshots were fired.

Later on at 6:18 p.m., the stolen vehicle was recovered in the 700 block of North 10th Street in Renton, which is at The Landing.

The two white male suspects, ages 21 and 16, were arrested and booked into jail and two handguns were recovered.

According to KCSO, the vehicle had been seen in Lynnwood in Snohomish County before the arrests were made in Renton.

KCSO Major Crimes is investigating the case “to determine the events that led up to the carjacking up to the two being taken into custody.”
