BASEBALL

KENTLAKE SUMMER CAMP

This camp is scheduled for July 25-27 at Kentlake High School. Players ages 7-9 will meet from 9 a.m.-noon; players ages 10-12 meet from 1-4 p.m. The cost is $100, which includes a T-shirt, hat, and a barbecue meal on the final day. More information: www.kentlakefalconsbaseball.com.

SBI REBELS TRYOUTS

VIPERS TRYOUTS

BASEBALL JAZZ

BASKETBALL

RECREATIONAL PLAYERS NEEDED

Mature recreational players are needed for a group that gathers on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday basis at noon in the Kent area. It’s strictly for fun and exercise. More information: e-mail to kknapp@rei.com.

GORILLA BASKETBALL CAMP

This camp, for boys and girls entering grades 3-7, is scheduled for Monday through Friday July 28-Aug. 1, in the Tahoma Junior High gym. The focus is on learning new skills, but also having fun playing basketball with friends. The camp will be directed by the middle school basketball coaches. The cost is $100, and includes a T-shirt and water bottle. Campers are asked to bring a basketball. More information: (425) 413-3405.

CAMPS

UNDEFEATED SPORTS CAMP

This camp for boys and girls ages 8-12 will offer a choice of soccer, basketball OR cheerleading. It is scheduled for July 28-Aug. 1 at Kent Covenant Church, 12010 S.E. 240th St. in Kent. GOFAST SPEED CAMP

These four-day camps take place at Kentridge High School, and are open to boys and girls ages 10-18 in all sports. The focus will be on developing speed, agility, quickness, running technique, injury prevention, and linear and lateral movement. FOOTBALL

KENT PARKS ADULT FLAG LEAGUE

Registration is open for this pass-only league. An eight-game schedule will be played on Sundays and/or Wednesday evenings from September through November. The team entry fee is $345, and the roster fee is $245, both of which are due by Aug 11. More information: Kent Parks at (253) 856-5000.

SAILING

RENTON SAILING CLUB CLASSES

A four-session INTRO TO BASIC SAILING class will be offered on Wednesdays, with classes now under way, and the last series beginning Sept. 3. It is open to ages 9 and older. Instruction will be offered in how to rig and sail a small dinghy, all within a confined area. The cost is $32 for Renton residents and $38 for non-residents.

An eight-session RED CROSS-CERTIFIED SMALL-BOAT SAILING class will be offered on a Thursday-Friday basis for four weeks, with classes now under way, and the last series beginning on Sept. 4. The cost is $80 for residents and $95 for non-residents.

SOCCER

FIRST TOUCH TRAINING CAMPS

Camps for boys and girls ages 6-18 are scheduled for Aug. 4-6 and Aug. 18-20 from 9 a.m.-noon each day at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila. More information: (206) 947-4535 or online at www.firsttouchsoccertraining.com.

KENT PARKS YOUTH SOCCER

Leagues for boys and girls in Pre-K through Grade 6 are forming. Leagues are formed by grades, with Pre-K and K/1st playing coed, and all others (Grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) having separate boys and girls leagues. The registration fee is $40 through Aug. 5, and $45 thereafter. Players for the Pre-K league must be at least 3 years old as of Aug. 31, 2008. More information: Kent Parks (253) 856-5000.

TENNIS

KIDS CAMPS

Covington Community Sports will offer these four-day camps for boys and girls ages 8-12 will be offered Monday through Thursday beginning July 28 and Aug. 11. Camp hours are 1-3:30 p.m. each day at Cedar Heights Middle School, 19640 S.E. 272nd St. Campers will learn and enhance skills by playing in games and participating in other activities. Proper stroke and movement will be emphasized. The cost is $95 per camper per session. The instructor is Stephen Johnson, a member of the U.S. Professional Tennis Registry. KENT PARKS SUMMER LESSONS

Lessons for youths and adults will be offered during July and August at Kent-Meridian High School, and in September at Garrison Creek Park. The cost for eight sessions is $50. More information: Kent Parks at (253) 856-5000.

MR. G’s SUMMER DAY CAMP

This camp for boys and girls ages 5-17 will take place Monday through Thursday throughout the summer at Kentridge and Kentlake high schools. More information: Kent Parks at (253) 856-5000.

VOLLEYBALL

KENT PARKS JUNIOR GIRLS LEAGUE

Registration for leagues for grades 7/8 and 9 through 12 is in progress. The registration fee is $45 through Sept. 2, and $50 thereafter. Practices begin in early October. More information: Kent Parks at (253) 856-5000.
