Kentridge’s Conner captures state title in 300-meter hurdles | 4A prep track and field

Kentridge High School senior Tanner Conner won his first state title during the state 4A track and field meet Saturday at Mount Tahoma High in Tacoma.

Kentridge High School senior Tanner Conner won his first state title during the state 4A track and field meet Saturday at Mount Tahoma High in Tacoma.

Conner took first in the boys 300-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 37.4 seconds. Last year, he finished second in the 300 and 110 hurdles.

In the long jump, Conner got third place with a personal record jump of (22-8 ½). Mason Sallee, of Federal Way High, won the long jump title (23-8 ¾).

Conner also broke a personal record on Friday in the finals of the 110 hurdles. His time of 14.09 earned him second place, behind Gonzaga Prep’s Nick Johnson (14.05), who won the state title in the 110 hurdles last year.

Other results

Kentridge’s Emily Tea took second place in the girls pole vault (11-3). The senior finished behind Camas’ Caleigh Lofstead (12-3).
