Grade: Sophomore.

Sport: Wrestling.

Accomplishment: Hobbs won a pair of matches at the regional tournament to clinch a berth to this weekend’s state tournament in Tacoma.

Favorite class: Graphic Arts.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite Lil’ Wayne and I would serve steak and potatoes.

Greatest athletic moment: Making it to state for wrestling.

Most recent book read/author: “The Cell” by Stephen King.

Currently playing on your iPod: Wiz Khalifa.

In 10 years, I will be …: Opening my own vet clinic.

ELLIE HOEKMAN, Kentridge

Grade: Freshman.

Sport: Gymnastics.

Accomplishment: Hoekman posted a 9.225 on her floor routine at the district meet, thus earning a berth to state this weekend.

Favorite class: Drama.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Kristen Wig from Saturday Night Live. She is my idol! My dream is to be on Saturday Night Life. I’d definitely serve pizza.

Greatest athletic moment: Right after I finished my floor routine at sub-districts. I knew I nailed it.

Most recent book read/author: “L.A. Candy” by Lauren Conrad.

Currently playing on your iPod: Frankie Avalon.

In 10 years I will be … : Hopefully on my way to New York.

AUSTIN TORRES, Kentwood

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Wrestling.

Accomplishment: Torres won a pair of matches at the Class 4A Region III tournament en route to taking second place overall in the 152-pound bracket and clinch a state berth.

Favorite class: English.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (actress) Rachel McAdams to any food, mostly because she’s my future wife.

Greatest athletic moment: Making it to state this year after not having a winning record last year (5-17).

Most recent book read/author: “Deception Point” by Dan Brown.

Currently playing on your iPod: “This is the house that doubt built” by A Day to Remember.

SOPHIA CHI, Kentwood

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Wrestling.

Accomplishment: Chi won four of five matches at the regional tournament and finished in third place in the 103-pound weight class to clinch a berth to this weekend’s state tournament.

Favorite class: Psychology.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Channing Tatum. I would serve ribs.

Greatest athletic moment: When I got the “Best Match” award at Emerald Ridge.

Currently playing on your iPod: Justin Bieber.

MARTEL TAYLOR-BARONE, Kent-Meridian

Grade: Sophomore.

Sport: Basketball.

Accomplishment: Taylor-Barone recorded his third straight double-digit performance, scoring 15 points in a 76-67 loss to Federal Way at the sub-district tournament.

Favorite class: Japanese.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite my mom, and I would serve Chinese food.

Greatest athletic moment: My greatest athletic moment would probably be my last few games. I have been playing with high energy and aggressiveness.

Most recent book read/author: “Slam!” by Walter Dean Myers.

Currently playing on your iPod: Drake.

In 10 years I will be … : I will be a college graduate and will be successful in whatever I do.
