Three new officers join Kent Police

Mayor Suzette Cooke swore in Kent’s newest police officers during the Sept. 20 City Council meeting.

Officers Ian Lentz, Chellsi James and Matthew Levi joined the force.

• Lentz worked two years as a corrections officer at the city jail. He was raised in Puyallup and is married with three children.

• James, from Montana, is married to a Seattle Police officer and they have two kids. She previously worked as a preschool teacher and nanny.

• Levi, who is married with two children, came to Kent after seven years as a sheriff’s office deputy in northern Nevada.
