Jean Coy plays a ballad on her violin with Karusellen, a Scandinavian musical troupe, at the Soos Creek Botanical Garden and Heritage Center last Saturday.

The music was part of the Sons of Norway’s visit to the center, which invited the public to learn about the Scandinavian influence on the Soos Creek Plateau.

The program was one of many events tied to the month-long Experience Historical Kent celebration that showcased local history, featured special exhibits and offered bus and walking tours of the city’s oldest homes, businesses and cemeteries.
