Greater Kent Historical Society’s adult education series presents ‘Her-story: Women’s History Told Through Fashion’

The Greater Kent Historical Society presents an adult education series on “Her-story: Women’s History Told Through Fashion.“

The public is invited to see the first installment of the series on Saturday, Jan. 13, from noon to 4 p.m., at the Kent Historical Museum, 855 E. Smith St, Kent.

The program is an opportunity to see historic fashions from private collectors throughout the Northwest in a special, one-day pop-up exhibit. The exhibit will include a couture gown adorned with more than 10,000 hand-placed Swarovski crystals.

There will be a demonstration on a historic ladies millinery technique known as “buckram and wire.”

If you would like to participate in the hat-making workshop, please RSVP to ctyofknt@msn.com, or by calling 253-854-4330.

The event is free with a suggested donation of $10.
