Pianist Alpin Hong, known as the man who performs classical music for the iPod generation, plays at 7:30 p.m. March 18 at the Kent-Meridian High School Performing Arts Center, 10020 S.E. 256th St.

Hong’s classical training and a background in skateboarding, snowboarding, martial arts, and video games forms a creative force unmatched with its youthful vivacity and boundless energy, according to his Web site.

Hong is a native of Michigan and made his orchestral debut with the Kalamazoo (Mich.) Symphony at the age of 10. He moved to Los Angeles soon after.
