Theatre Battery brings 24-hour new play festival to Kent Station on Saturday

Published 5:01 pm Wednesday, December 9, 2015

For a third year, Theatre Battery, a local theater company geared at bringing live theater to Kent, will push the limits of new play production and prove Sleep is for the Weak.

In the span 24 hours, dozens of Puget Sound artists will work together to write, rehearse, produce and perform a series of brand new plays.

Sleep is for the Weak will hit the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Kent Station, 438 Ramsay Way, Suite 103.

Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased online at theatrebattery.strangertickets.com.

This year’s festival will incorporate new challenges constructed to demand risk-taking in the production process, including the return of the 10-minute musical challenge. Participants include Theatre Battery regulars, past collaborators from main stage and developmental projects, as well as a crop of new entries from the region.

In addition to Sleep is for the Weak, Theatre Battery has put on productions in Kent the past five summers, with the past three at shows at Kent Station.
