Lola Jones, 5, of Kent, dresses as Madam C.J. Walker, a civil rights activist, philanthropist and entrepreneur (1867–1919), during an appearance on Tuesday night at the Kent City Council meeting at City Hall.
Mayor Suzette Cooke invited Jones and her mother Cristi Jones to the meeting after hearing about how Lola dressed as a different notable black woman each day of February to help celebrate Black History Month by recreating iconic photos.
