Gove, Slackman win PNW Pro-Amateur Championship

The team of PGA Professional Jeff Gove with amateur Darren Slackman of The Creek at Qualchan (Spokane) won the PNW Pro-Amateur Championship by two strokes after firing four-ball scores of 61-61-122, 22 under par at Palouse Ridge in Pullman on Thursday.

The tandem won by two strokes over 2011 champions Brian Thornton of Meridian Valley CC and amateur Todd Densley, who shot four-ball scores of 62-62-124, 20 under par.

Sponsored by National Car Rental, the event is one of nearly 100 new amateur tournaments throughout the 41 PGA of America Sections nationwide being linked together to form the Pro-Am Series.
