Animal lovers and their furry friends visited the Kent Station shopping center for the Dog Daze and Feline Fantasies Pet Adoption Event last Saturday.

The event featured more than a dozen animal shelters and pet rescue organizations with dogs, cats and other critters; pet-related vendor booths with treats, supplements, food and services; and one-stop pet licensing. Pet Central and Reber Ranch Veterinary Hospital offered valuable coupons, swag and information.

The event was an immediate hit.

Nine animals were adopted during the first 15 minutes, according to Cynthia Boyd, marketing manager for Kent Station.

The city of Kent, Kent Station, Reber Ranch Veterinary Hospital, Pet Central and Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) sponsored the event.
