Hydroplane art to be displayed at Kent museum

The Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum in Kent will display more than 500 color art renderings of unlimited hydroplanes by R.J. Tully during a special exhibit June 1 through Sept. 30.

Tully grew up in Seattle near Lake Washington, where he developed his love for hydroplanes. He now lives in Santa Maria, Calif.

Tully has drawn more than 500 art renderings of hydroplanes going back to before World War II.

Normal museum admission fees apply to view the exhibit.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for senior citizens ages 60 and older and $5 for students younger than 16. Military personnel and veterans as well as children younger than 6 get in for free. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
