Mariners unveil new ballpark eats for 2023 season

Our reporters sampled tasty barbecue, pizza, ice cream and more that will be served at T-Mobile Park.

The Seattle Mariners recently announced new food and beverage offerings for the 2023 season ahead of Opening Day on March 30 — and the new options include fare from some local favorites such as Moto Pizza, Din Tai Fung and more.

Local media members were invited to try some of these newly featured ballgame eats, and we found some of our own favorites.

Holy Smoke BBQ, now located near Section 105 on the Main Level and Section 313 on the View Level, offers a selection of house smoked meats and sides, including returning favorites such as the BBQ rib combo platter.

We tried the Holy Moly Loaded Baked Potato with pulled pork, jalapeño cheese sauce, drizzled crema and green onions.

One of our favorites was the pork rib wing — tenderly smoked and glazed with a sweet and tangy pomegranate barbecue sauce, served with a single bone to be eaten like a chicken wing. “We have pork wings — not chicken wings — pork wings,” said Chef Javier Rosa.

Din Tai Fung will now have two locations in the ballpark — Section 132 and The ‘Pen. Fan favorites including the pork and veggie bao buns, chicken fried rice and spicy chicken wonton soup will still be available.

They also had another one of our favorites, a popcorn chicken cup that was lightly breaded and fried to be golden brown and delicious. It was similar to a Japanese Karaage-style chicken.

Din Tai Fung will also be available at the Walk-Off Markets in Sections 141 and 126.

Edgar’s Cantina will offer Latin-inspired fan favorites such as tacos del barrio with chicken, pork or fried avocado, BBQ brisket quesadillas served with a grilled pineapple pico de gallo in a crisp flour tortilla, shrimp tostada, and cantina nachos smothered in shredded chicken, braised pork or sweet potato with choice of toppings.

We loved the crispy fish taquitos and shrimp quesadillas, which were deliciously crispy and loaded with saucy flavor.

Located near Section 119 on the Main Level, Marination, offering Hawaiian favorites will have a new luau plate lunch option, a sweet ginger miso chicken, alongside returning options of Kalua pork and “sexy tofu” with Hawaiian-style macaroni salad (which we loved) and signature slaw and rice.

Making its Seattle sports venue debut this May, West Seattle-based Moto Pizza will bring its unique and deep dish-style pizza to T-Mobile Park. At T-Mobile Park, fans will be able to choose from four of Moto’s popular offerings including Mr. Pig. This top seller is topped with pork belly from Carlton Farms, prepared Filipino “Lechon” style with spicy sausage. A bright tomato sauce, Lee’s mango cilantro chimichurri and garlic banana ketchup round out the finishing touches of this house favorite.

The pizza was among one of the most unique pieces of pizza we had ever tried, loaded with different flavors, and it had the perfect textural balance of crispy, saucy and fluffy.

Known for handmade ice cream with local ingredients, Salt and Straw will offer classic flavors as well as rotating “Seattle” flavors. New for 2023 is Beecher’s flagship cheese with apple pie cinnamon rolls, a reported T-Mobile exclusive. Cinnamon rolls get the special treatment with crisp and bright apple pie filling before being crumbled throughout sweet and creamy Beecher’s Flagship Cheese ice cream with a delicious cinnamon swirl.
