Auburn Symphony Orchestra presents Luxurious Oboe Sounds

Come explore works featuring the warm and melodious tones of the oboe with the Auburn Symphony Orchestra.

Performances of Luxurious Oboe Sounds are set for 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17 at First Christian Church of Kent, 11717 SE 240th St., and 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at St. Mathew Episcopal Church, 123 L. St. NE.

Beginning with one of Haydn’s most wonderful string quartets, nicknamed “Quinten”, and continuing with charming works by Mozart and Bax, the program is a tour of European music and folk songs designed to usher in the holiday season.

Tickets are $20 general, $10 students. Reserved seats are available in advance online at auburnsymphony.org or by phone at 253-887-7777, and will also be available at the door. The box office opens 60 minutes prior to the concert and the house opens 30 minutes prior.

A free pre-concert lecture begins at 1:45 p.m., hosted by Wesley Schulz and Dave Beck.

The concert is sponsored in part by the City of Auburn and the Boeing Co.
