Kent’s Fourth of July Splash set for Lake Meridian Park

Celebrate America’s Independence at Kent’s 16th annual Fourth of July Splash at Lake Meridian Park, 14800 SE 272nd St. The fun begins at noon and continues until 10:30 p.m. on Friday, July 4.

The free event features family entertainment, including live music, children’s activities, food and drinks and culminates with a classic fireworks display.

“It’s a pleasure to host the Splash at Lake Meridian Park for what has become a great community tradition,” said Kent Parks’ Cultural Programs Coordinator Mark Hendrickson. “It remains a great family event and a fantastic venue to celebrate Independence Day.”

Hendrickson says Splash attendees will be treated to a continuous day of stage entertainment starting at 12:15 p.m.

The fireworks display starts at 10 p.m. Sponsored by the city’s Parks Department and the Lake Meridian Community Association, the show is approximately 20 minutes long.

Off-site parking and free shuttle bus service begins at noon and continues approximately every 20 minutes to and from Lake Meridian.

2-3 p.m.: Pie Eating Contest

3:15-4 p.m.: Spotlight Dance Company

4:15-5 p.m.: Soul’d Out

5:15-6 p.m.: The Female Fiends

6:30-7:15 p.m.: Dylan Jakobsen

8-9:30 p.m.: LeRoy Bell

10 p.m.: Fireworks display
