Town hall meeting for Kent residents is Saturday

Published 8:50 am Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Residents can tell the Kent City Council what they think about crime, traffic or any other issue at a town hall meeting 9 a.m. Saturday at the Kent Station branch of Green River Community College, Room 238, 417 Ramsay Way.

“These meetings provide an opportunity for residents to come and speak to us in a very casual setting about their concerns, suggestions and hopes for our city,” Council President Debbie Raplee said in a press release. “Most of the time, our interactions at Council meetings are very formal, with limitations on time and subject matter. Council members see these meetings as a way to expand our outreach and increase residents participation in local government.”

A moderator will lead the discussion. The meeting will run 9 to 11 a.m.

Nearly two dozen residents attended the Council’s first town hall meeting Oct. 14 at Kent Fire Station No. 73 on the West Hill.
