PREPS OF THE WEEK: Jan. 14 edition

NATHAN MEEKS, Kentlake

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Wrestling.

Accomplishment: Meeks served up the quickest pin of the night last week against Auburn Riverside, needing just 45 seconds to dispatch Larkin Williams in a 46-17 victory on Jan. 6.

Favorite class: Auto shop.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite Alexa Felchlin and she would make me homemade fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Greatest athletic moment: Winning the Graham and Snohomish tournaments.

Favorite movie: Step Brothers. Most recent book read/author: “The Scarlet Letter” by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

In 10 years I will be …: Married with kids running my business. Also: Meeks sports a 3.2 grade-point average and will be attending Oregon State University next year.

TYREE BAGLEY, Kent-Meridian

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Basketball.

Accomplishment: Bagley scored 10 points, five in the pivotal fourth quarter, helping the Royals knock off Kentwood 47-42 in an SPSL North game. The win helped K-M end a 12-game losing streak against Kentwood.

Favorite class: History.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: My mom because she is the world to me, and I would serve macaroni because it’s her favorite.

Greatest athletic moment: When I helped my team come up with a win against Kentwood.

Favorite movie: Above the Rim.

Currently playing on your iPod: Ashton Martin music from Rick Ross. In 10 years I will be … : Out of college in the NBA or overseas playing basketball.

CASSIDY MEYERS, Kentwood

Grade: Sophomore.

Sport: Wrestling.

Accomplishment: Meyers showed she’s one to watch as state nears, ripping through the girls 125-pound weight class at the All-SPSL Championships with two pins and a technical fall en route to grabbing the title.

Favorite class: Photography.

Greatest athletic moment: Being able to play with my sister in state (soccer) and winning the state championship.

Currently playing on your iPod: “Pocket Full of Sunshine” by Natasha Bedingfield.

JORDAN JOHNSON, Kentwood

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Gymnastics.

Accomplishment: Johnson delivered a superlative performance in a meet against Auburn, Federal Way and Kentridge last week, winning the vault, floor and the all-around.

Favorite class: Early Childhood internship.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Shawn Johnson, the cast of “Stick it” and my friends so they could meet them. I would serve Jamba Juice and Mexican.

Greatest athletic moment: Making it to state on vault my junior year.

Currently playing on your iPod: “Mine” by Taylor Swift.

GARY BELL, Kentridge

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Basketball.

Accomplishment: Bell delivered a game-high 30 points and added six rebounds, five steals and four assists, leading the Chargers past No. 7 Auburn 61-51 Jan. 4.

Favorite class: AVID.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: If I could take anyone out to dinner, I would take my grandma.

Greatest athletic moment: Scoring 55 points against Auburn Riverside.

Favorite movie: Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins.
